2020: A Year in Review

Updated: Sep 27, 2021

The year began with a record revenue month followed by a record Super Bowl for SHG and then the live event world came to a screeching halt in March. Our team spent the 1st few weeks of the pandemic unraveling our extensive live event schedule already in place for the year. After making sure our live event clients were taken care of, we began to further develop our virtual event capabilities. Our team dove into virtual events helping to perfect a process focused on client experience throughout. We learned to run events on a multitude of platforms, developed unique virtual event concepts, engaged new potential clients, re-tooled our office for shipping and doubled our headcount to handle the client demand in the virtual event space. The adaptability and resolve shown by our SHG team was nothing short of amazing allowing us to create a thriving virtual event business.

VIRTUAL EVENTS

2020 was the year the event world went virtual. SHG executed virtual events centered around culinary, mixology, speaker series, fitness, golf, craft beer, wine, coffee, spirits, cheese, painting, virtual summits, Nashville, Star Wars trivia, home office decorating, game shows, tailgating, poker, etc.. Below are a few of our favorites.

SPEAKER SERIES - SEBASTIAN MANISCALCO & DAYMOND JOHN

Sebastian stole the show with his natural comedic wit and stories ranging from his unique family upbringing to how he's handled being "locked down" during the pandemic.

Daymond delivered on the task of providing business strategies for adapting to new challenges with success stories from his own journey.

SHG provided dozens of notable and inspiring personalities for virtual speaking engagements in 2020 which included Bill Walton, Brian Cashman, Gary McCord, Dave Roberts, to name a few.

CULINARY EVENING WITH CHEF MICHAEL SYMON

Michael was a favorite among our clients providing cooking experiences ranging from Thanksgiving sides to beer and food pairings to traditional Italian meals. Michael's unique ability to relate to clients through storytelling and instruction made him the perfect chef for engaging in this new virtual landscape. Culinary events were extremely popular this year and our chef lineup included dozens of choices including Guy Fieri, Curtis Stone, Geoffrey Zakarian, Andrew Zimmern, Lorena Garcia, etc..

VIRTUAL TASTINGS

From Lagunitas Brewing to Dogfish Head, Funky Buddha to Tribus and beyond our clients made numerous stops on the craft beer tasting tour participating in virtual experiences at the brewery and brewmaster tastings conducted on site. Wine tastings were extremely popular in 2020 with clients participating in virtual winery tours, wine and food pairings and even holiday ugly sweater wine tastings. Virtual spirit tasting and mixology were great for every occasion with clients engaging in bourbon, gin, vodka, and tequila tastings with brand ambassadors and mixology experiences learning to make festive drinks or a great Old Fashioned. Attendees received everything they needed for the tasting delivered straight to their homes making these experiences among some of our most popular.

HOLIDAY VIRTUAL EVENT LINEUP

Our clients were eager to provide seasonal experiences and we jumped in with all sorts of ideas to help bring people virtually together and keep them connected. Experiences included gingerbread house decorating, holiday baking, cupcake design, holiday beer tasting, holiday cocktail mixology, holiday decorating, gift wrapping, ornament design, reading with Santa, wreath making, and Rockettes experience.
